The Layoff Support Network

During the recession, many Americans lost their jobs. Some of these people had been with companies for 20+ years and did not know how to use modern technologies to find jobs. My business partner and I created โ€œThe Layoff Support Network.โ€ The site had features similar to that of Facebook.

During that time, I met many very desperate people. All were upset, some had suicidal thoughts, some had suicidal plans. I believe we addressed these problems in a more personal way then any other relief group.

But, it is expensive being a Superhero. I spent much of my retirement money on it. I figured I would earn it back because there had to be someone that would build on at least one of my inventions.

It did get some media attention.

I cowrote a book called The Laid Off Ninja. It was a book that helped people deal with the stress of being unemployed. It also taught hacker philosophy for using available tools.

It had a section about how important it was to maintain a sense of humor and you take the time to do things that make one feel happy. I made a comment about listening to the Howard Stern show. I later didn’t interview on the Howard Stern show.

Note that I no longer am a fan of Howard Stern. Spouting woke sound bites is too much hypocrisy to take. I’m not a Trump supporter, but when Stern came out and said he hated Trump voters, I remembered a show where he had Trump as a guest and discussed walking through the dressing room of beauty pageants supported by Trump.

Spouting Becoming WOKE, was too much hypocrisy for me to take.
